US Fish & Wildlife Refuge

Only a 45 minute drive North of Ft Lauderdale and you are in the northernmost portion of the Everglades! An alligator may greet you at the launch site then off thru your first challenge, a bed of lillypads! This is a 5.5 mile trail and mostly narrow so you will need good paddling skills. Total leisure paddle time is 2.30 hours and 15 minute break is taken after the first hour. Excellent viewing of flowers including orchids and of birds. Home of the endangered Snail Kite. Bring your camera and binoculars for this trip.

This is a peaceful paddle with no one around for miles.
