Pounce was abandoned in April 1999 when his family was evicted from their home. Since there is no DCFS (Department of Canine and Feline Services), my Mom rescued him and assumed the role of his Foster Mom after registering him with ADOPT(Animals Deserving of Proper Treatment). After some excellent home cooked meals, many cuddly nights on a soft lap, and some deep soul searching, Pounce decided that he could adjust to life as an indoor cat and turned on the charm. It worked because he became part of the Fox Family in May 1999. He rapidly ballooned up to 19.8 pounds, and after less than a month in his new pad, he ate a 60 inch shoe lace that required $1000 surgery to remove!
Since recuperating, Pounce has really enjoyed his new home. Pounce has Cat TV, (aka a screened porch), many toys, regular meals including tuna, and lots of love. His favorite activity is "playing baby", a nightly ritual when he climbs onto Mom's lap, kneads her abdomen and chest, and settles into a tummy-side-up position for hours of pets and cuddles. It's hilarious to watch!
Pounce terrorizes his canine cousins
Cinder and Flash with unprovoked hisses and swats. He also bites
people, which we're told are cat "love bites" but suspect
are a result of his EVILNESS!
Pounce is currently on a diet and weighed in at 16.2 on November
8, 2000....... He's still a big boy!
