She lives with three other
members of her pack in Wheaton, IL.
Winnie was born into the
Greyhound racing community but took "early retirement"
at the age of two to be placed in the Midwest Greyhound Adoption
Program in 1997.
With her muscular legs
and her lithe, aerodynamic physique, she has the potential to
run like the wind, but she prefers passing her days sleeping on
one of her custom beds, nibbling dog treats, and having her personal
trainer take her out for long walks. Though Greyhounds aren't
known for their intelligence, I secretly suspect her "early
retirement" was intentional due to a premonition of pampered
days ahead!
Winnie hates thunderstorms
and loud noises, as well as cold weather. She wears a warm-up
suit when the temperature is below forty and everyone laughs and
comments about how cute she is!
An interesting fact about
Winnie is that she loves people, but hates it when humans touch
her ears, so she screams! AHHH! A psycho tattooed the inside of
her ears with numbers in her previous life and she hates having
flashbacks to those days. Only the most loving, trustworthy humans
are allowed to touch Winnie's ears!
Here's to you Winnie!
I love you and look forward to seeing you each day!
